Start of Fall

Things that have been keeping us busy and making us happy since Fall arrived...
 1. Pumpkin Pancakes  topped with Spiced Pecans.
Absolutely delicious with maple syrup and a dab of whipped cream.

2. Yarn Wreathes
I have finished the wreath for Lucy's room and have two more in the making. It must be the change in season that has me so happy and content while working away with my yarn and felt and little Lucy.

This is my first wreath which was inspired by this one. Like Ashley, I ordered the butterflies from The Gilded Bee on Etsy and everything else I found at Hobby Lobby. I am quite pleased with it :) Simple and Sweet.

The second will be for fall and the third is heart shaped for our bedroom. Because we're in love. I'll let you know how they turn out.

3. Pinks and Peaches
I'm finally dressing up Lucy Goose's room... with pinks and peaches!

The wreath above was an addition to Lucy's room and I'm preparing the lanterns and paper poms for hanging above her bed. Pictures of the completed room coming soon!

Happy Monday!

After finishing the dishes this morning, I searched the apartment for Lucy only to find her here...

enjoying the shining sun and crisp fall air and a lovely conversation with herself :)

Rainy Saturday

It's raining in Texas. I love the rain and most of all I love the rain in Texas. It has perfect timing. Fall is here and I am SO thrilled. I love waking up when it's still dark out but I've still had plenty of sleep. I love the rain falling on the pond and Lucy Goose's excitement to watch it. I love blueberry pancakes and hot chocolate... and so on.
Lucy watches her favorite ballet with her favorite Lamby.

I went to work on our wedding photo albums. Michaels has the huge MS albums on clearance for $6.99 so I stocked up with hopes that they would inspire me. And they have! That and our two year anniversary is just around the corner!

Break time. John's fresh home-roasted coffee and almond croissants?? I think so!

Baby Shower

This weekend I hosted a baby shower for a lovely friend of mine and here are some ideas I thought worthy of sharing. Hope you like it!

These tightly wrapped onesies make for a lovely bouquet and centerpiece. I used chopsticks to stand them up and arrange them.

These lovely pom poms lined the center of the table adding a feel of festivity to a peaceful garden setting. The lollipops were simple but delicious favors and very easy to create. Cut 7" squares out of the desired color tissue paper, press a hole into the center with the stick of your lollipop, gather the paper at the top and tie a cute tie.

This is a very simple diaper cake compared to some that I have seen but very elegant still... as elegant as a diaper cake can be. For it's construction, I used a 10" cardboard cake base, rolled approximately 80 diapers individually and wrapped them with rubber bands, tied a strong tie around each layer and then some pretty crepe paper. Then I used dots of hot glue to attach each layer (it doesn't take much). I topped the cake with a rose but you could top it with anything you like... baby shoes, rattle, stuffed animal etc.
